Process

All of the textiles we sell at Black Cat Judaica are handwoven on 18th and 19th century barn frame looms. My tallitot are woven with a fine wool/silk blend from Jagger Spun in Springvale, ME. My challah cloths are made from a cotton/linen blend from Maurice Brassard in Plessisville, QC, Canada. My wool tzitzit are handspun by Ghost Rosen of Fury Wren (https://furywren.com), and my linen tzitzit are hand spun by Prin Van Gulden, with flax she grows herself.

If you have a special project in mind that is not offered on the shop page, or even if you’re looking for a standard design with a twist, please feel free to contact me directly via email (black.cat.judaica@protonmail.com). I would love to work with you to create the perfect addition to your Jewish practice.

Note: Due to the custom and handmade nature of this work, listed order times are estimates. Please allow at least six months of lead time in advance of a deadline such as a b’nai mitzvah, ordination, or wedding. If you wish for an order to be rushed, a mandatory rush order fee will be applied.
