Ira’s Kippah Knitting Pattern

This pattern is written for an adult-sized kippah using worsted weight yarn. It knits up well in a variety of yarn weights and head sizes, you will just have to adjust your stitch numbers based on your gauge. 

Using size 6(US) double pointed needles, co 112 sts. Join round.

Crown:

K2 P2 round. 

Same as above for 14 rounds. (This is a good place to do color work if desired!)

Decreasing:

K all sts round

(K 14, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K 13, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K 12, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K 11, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K 10, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K 9, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K8, K2tog) x7

K all sts round 

(K7, K2tog) x7

K all sts round 

(K6, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K5, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K4, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K3, K2tog) x7

K all sts round

(K2, K2tog) x7

(K3tog) x7

You should end with 7 sts on the needles. Break off yarn and pull the tail through the remaining stitches, pulling tight and tying to itself. Weave in ends.
